1st look at New LG Smartphone for T-mobile

LG Electronics offered a glimpse of its new flagship multimedia cell phone, called Arena, at the Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona.

The Arena will have a large touchscreen and a new 3D user interface, which can be seen in the preview image. This will have a cube-based layout, which provides four customizable home screens for direct access to the phone’s features. The user can switch screens within the three-dimensional interface by turning from one face of the cube to the next. Underneath the main display are four icons that provide quick access to functions such as phone calls and e-mail, according to this image released by the company.

With its large display, the Arena will have a focus on multimedia, and is expected to include a 5 MPx camera capable of recording DVD-quality video. LG says playback will be aided by Dolby and DivX technologies

The phone is the latest in a line of handsets from major manufacturers that feature highly graphical user interfaces. Many of them take design cues from Apple’s successful iPhone. Like the iPhone the Arena also has a large display that occupies most of the front face of the phone.

In addition, this GSM smartphone will have HSDPA 7.2 — a very high-speed version of 3G — Wi-Fi, and GPS.
